Round 1 of the NBL is in the books and we are back The Pikey & Loughz Show to go Talkin' Taipans as we dissect an up and down opening weekend for Cairns Taipans and look ahead to two monster Round 2 games as well as having a special guest.

Basketball Writer Chris Pike and Taipans legend Alex Loughton are back in 2021 to provide The Pikey & Loughz Show to cover everything going on with the Cairns Taipans in the NBL and there was shortage of discussion points this week.

First up talk was about the opening two games of the season for the Taipans which turned out to be a thrilling win over the Sydney Kings and then a defeat to the Hawks.

We provide a full breakdown on everything that happened in those two games, then touch on the other games across the NBL which have taken place and then get ready for our special guest this week.

Loughz catches up with current Sydney Kings star and a former Taipans teammate of his, Shaun Bruce, as they sit down for a fascinating discussion in Cairns this week which you can only get when two former teammates get together.

We then discuss the Cairns Total Physio MVP tracker with the votes cast from the opening round before turning our attention to preview the Round 2 action which for the Taipans includes home games against the Sydney Kings on Saturday night and Melbourne United on Monday.
